Jennifer Haskins, Esq.

Attorney Jennifer Haskins is a Rhode Islander through and through. Born and raised in Warwick, she got married at the historic Odeum Theater just down the street from McCarthy Law. She now calls Cranston home, along with her husband Dan, and their beloved Golden Retriever mix, Murray.

Jennifer’s path to law was driven by a lifelong commitment to public service and her own family experiences. Growing up, she watched her uncle navigate life with special needs and saw how overwhelming long-term care systems could be. Later, she witnessed the challenges her grandmother faced while living with Alzheimer’s, and the stress that came with managing care for a loved one. Through her family, Jen saw the power of advocacy and the positive impact that could be created by the people who fought for her family’s rights. It was this experience that led her to the legal world where she became that advocate for her clients and community members.

Jennifer maintains a deep commitment to giving back and educating others. Prior to her legal career, she served with AmeriCorps and College Crusade RI, where she mentored students and helped bridge educational gaps. Within these programs, she ran financial literacy workshops for kids, leadership programs, school talent shows, and anti-bullying campaigns reinforcing her belief that not everyone has access to the information they need to plan for the future—but everyone deserves it. She carries that same passion into her law practice, teaching estate planning seminars to help individuals and families understand their options. Her legal insights have been featured in Yahoo News and House Beautiful Magazine, as well as in presentations for organizations like the Circle of Pride for the Village Common in Providence, where she helped educate members on how estate planning can help protect the LGBTQIA+ community.

During Jen’s time in law school she served as the Treasurer for the Public Interest Law Association, President of the Environmental Law Society, she interned with the RI Center for Justice on both their Education and Housing Teams, she interned with Mass Department of Environmental Protection (Mass DEP), and earned the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court’s Pro Bono Honor Roll for providing 50+ of pro bono legal service.

She works closely with families who have loved ones with special needs, helping them navigate Special Needs Trusts to ensure continuity of care. Jen is passionate about protecting the rights of the LGBTQIA+ community, recognizing the barriers they may face in traditional estate planning. Whether it’s planning for aging parents, protecting a child’s future, or ensuring a beloved pet is cared for, Jennifer is committed to making estate planning an accessible and empowering process for her clients.

Outside of the office, Jennifer is all about the little moments that matter—vacations, the great outdoors, and spending time with loved ones. She’s an adrenaline junkie who’s always up for an adventure, a horror movie fan, and a board game collector who never turns down a game night.
